A two-storied serviced residential complex with attic storey was built on the Stollberger Straße in Chemnitz. 59 apartments for senior citizens were planned, who manage their housekeeping independently but require quick assistance in emergencies. The former old building had to be removed in order to establish three interrelated building sections as well as two transversely arranged buildings that include apartments with 2 or 4 rooms free of barriers.

BUILDING SERVICES

Two passenger elevators were planned in order to provide a barrier-free access. Each apartment has got under-floor heating as well as a level-access shower. A central ventilation system ensures the room ventilation and the common rooms, like all the other rooms, are barrier-free. A pellet boiler provides a pleasant room temperature. The property is drained by a drainage system. The building is equipped with a modern electrical installation, e.g. security lighting, hazard detection and alarm system, interphone system, signaling device as well as a facility for telecommunication and information technology.
