A two-storied serviced residential complex with attic storey was built on the Stollberger Straße in Chemnitz. 59 apartments for senior citizens were planned, who manage their housekeeping independently but require quick assistance in emergencies. The former old building had to be removed in order to establish three interrelated building sections as well as two transversely arranged buildings that include apartments with 2 or 4 rooms free of barriers.

DESIGN OF OPEN LANDSCAPES

In order to increase the quality of living and to provide a comfortable housing situation for the inhabitants, a park-like outdoor area was created. 48 parking spaces, a parking lot for cars for disabled persons and further spare parking lots are available. Next to the pond, between the great terrace and the seating surfaces, a meadow stretches across the area. Low bushes, flower bulbs and small-crowned trees have been planted thematically as well as seasonally.
