Reconstruction and renovation "Alte Försterei" (old forestry) including extension to a day-care center in Grüna
Structural Engineering
Overall complex, consisting of a listed, three-storey masonry building and two bordering two-storey new buildings, design as a three-sided yard according to historical ideal
Old building:
- static verifications of the listed existing building structure for a increased traffic load because of utilization as a day-care center
- gutting of all timber beam floors including following partial renewal of fungal attacked building elements and reinforcement of the beams due to load increase
- finishing and completion of the attic floor by the omission of existing partition wall and stabilization by installation of a new knee brace plate
- installation of a new staircase as a second escape route and strengthening of the existing staircase made of the porphyry rock
- Construction of extensive bearing constructions and transfer structure because of minimal bearing capacity of the existing natural stone masonry of irregular porphyry rocks
New building:
- The building received a slab foundation with a frost barrier because of irregular foundation circumstances and the barely controllable settlement differences
- Stabilization by reinforced concrete floor, peripheral tie beam and masonry panels
- Utilization of a cross pile slab as roof panel icrease the indoor climate
- Linking of the separate building structures by a connecting structure with lintel-pillar-construction
