ARCHITECTURE / OBJECT PLANNING

Extensive replacements were carried out under claims of preservation of historic buildings. The built volumes are exemplary for Chemnitz' industrial architecture, which we as architects and engineers complemented with a modern workshop- and depot-building. Due to the plain design of the metal cladding, using intentionally contrasting materials, the new building is in competition with the clinker-architecture of the main building. It is an explicit functional addition of the exhibition area.
