Administrative building complex of the County Erzgebirgskreis (Saxony) in Annaberg-Buchholz
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
New building:
The bracing of the building is realized with an adequate quantity of ferroconcrete walls and with the lift shaft. The connector consists of point supporting ferroconcrete plates. Props crossing all levels bear these plates. The enclosure is realized with a post and crossbar front construction. The bracing of the connection building is done with the old and new building, whereupon the old building only absorbs horizontal loads. A special challenge was the support-free assembly and event hall in the ground level of the six-storey high building.
Existing building:
Static interventions to the old building were required at the location of the connection building. On the basis of the elaborated load plan the former building statics was evaluated in regards of compliance with the load plan.
A modernization or bracing of several ceilings was necessary e.g. in the area of the storage rooms opposite to the staircases. In the basement and at the front measures to restore the concrete (concrete substitution) were taking in areas of concrete corrosion or spalling. All services were done in regards with the fire-protection concept to ensure structural fire protection.
